MCOSMOS stands for Mitutoyo Controlled Open Systems for Modular Operation Support. This high-class software system developed by Mitutoyo enables the user to choose various software modules, to evaluate measuring results extensively, to document and present them and to archive the data in clear, practical structures. Depending on the CMM model, one of the three versions – MCOSMOS 1, 2 or 3 – is included as a standard feature. |
PartManager:
Anyone needing to measure a wide range of parts will benefit from the ability of MCOSMOS “PartManager” to access and manage a variety of software modules. “PartManager” generates, and systematically files extensive data records. “PartManager” is designed to be an easy-to-use “control center” for the management of every CMM measurement task. “PartManager” enables you to manage everything from your notes to records, statistics, data and images for each measuring process. It identifies each document clearly, linking each to its respective workpiece in a completely paper-less environment. Documents are called-up and desired programs are started with the click of an icon. “PartManager” enables management of user rights to meet security requirements under ISO 9000 ff and Directive 21 CFR (FDA). GEOPAK:
GEOPAK universal multi-dimensional geometric measuring program enables you to control your workpiece from drawing to completion. While GEOPAK features a wide range of functions, it’s also extremely user-friendly providing menu-driven audiovisual support while integrating photos, images and sound files. This unique documentation capability means that you can see what needs to be done, step by step, e.g. when adjusting a workpiece. While one measuring program is running, the software is still available for virtual setup of new measuring programs (multitasking). In addition to many integrated logging capabilities, outputting to other systems (e.g. QS-Stat, Word and Excel) is also possible. CAT 300:
CAT 300 puts an end to manual inputting of data. This makes programming measurement tasks in GEOPAK learn mode considerably easier. For measurement of parts and tolerance checks, all data is transferred over from the CAD model in just a few mouseclicks - simple and failsafe. This also applies to the programming of travel directions, contact points and recording of nominal valuesfor setpoint/actual value comparison. Travel and scanning directionsare clearly displayed in the 3D view. These can then be changed as required by clicking the mouse on the model. Possible collisions are calculated in advance and thereby avoided. 3D-TOL:
3D-TOL excels when it comes to comparing 3-dimensionally curved surfaces with their setpoint specifications from the CAD data (e.g. standard bodywork parts). 3D-TOL presents results in easy-to- interpret graphic form. Measuring deviations are quickly and easily identified by appropriate color marking. Trimmed edges of sheet metal parts can also be measured using 3D-TOL. SCANPAK:
By measuring the workpiece with fixed, touch-trigger or measuring probe systems, SCANPAK records the workpiece contours. Geometrical control elements (straight lines and circles) can be automatically adjusted to the contours. Distances and angles can also be calculated between them. The extensive tool kit enables reworking of contours such as filters, erasing points and returns, joining, scaling and mirroring of contours etc. GEARPAK:
GEARPAK is a specialized MCOSMOS module for the measurement and evaluation of involute gears. It is used for rapid generation of measuring programs and prepares evaluations and records. The measuring process is by single-point location or scanning. The spectrum of evaluations includes pitch, concentricity, best fit and single and two-flank contact rolling test, in addition to complex gear evaluation for profile and flank line. The parameters to be logged are determined by the user with graphic, numerical or combined representation being possible. |
